MERMAID INCIDENT IN ZIMBABWE: TWO BOYS DEAD

Local people in Gokwe in the African country of Zimbabwe have been left reeling after the tragic drowning of two boys. According to people from the region, the deaths of the two children was no accident, and the boys were deliberately drowned by a murderous mermaid. A friend of the two children said that he was with them, herding cattle when they saw what appeared to be an enormous fish close to the surface of the water near a local dam.

MERMAID BLAMED FOR THE TRAGIC DEATH OF TWO BOYS

The boys thought that the creature was a huge fish and decided to jump into the water in a bid to catch it. However, their friend explains, it was actually a mermaid who immediately pulled the two boys under the water. After that, the mermaid brought them back to the bank. At this point, their friend claims, they were still alive, so he immediately ran to get help. Many adults from the local community arrived, including the parents of the children. Naturally, the parents of the boys were incredibly distressed by what had happened and began to cry. According to Chief Nemangwe of the local police, this seemed to anger the mermaid who then resurfaced and pulled the two boys into the water once again in full view of the crowd of onlookers. Indeed, the local lore surrounding mermaids does dictate that it is terribly bad luck to cry after a mermaid incident and overt displays of emotion may anger the deadly creatures.

While this story might seem improbable to many people, the local police in Zimbabwe are certainly taking the reports of this lethal mermaid seriously. They claim that this is not the first time in the recent past that unusual drowning deaths have been attributed to these dangerous beings. To deal with the problem Chief Nemangwe has said that the community has gathered together to perform certain rituals to quell the wrath of the water spirits.
