 Facebook-owned <keyword keytype="UnKnown" keywordseo="WhatsApp" smid="0" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: proxima-regular1, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;" usetype="2">WhatsApp</keyword> recently revamped its 'status' feature, introducing Snapchat-like disappearing status messages. But users didn't really like the new functionality and asked that the old status be brought back. 
 It seems that WhatsApp, too, has now realized the same and is working towards bringing back the original text-based status feature. 
 As spotted by WaBetaInfo (@wabetainfo), a Twitter account that tracks upcoming changes in WhatsApp's beta builds, the company is testing the feature in the version 2.17.95 of its <keyword keynameseo="android" keytype="Company" keywordseo="Android" smid="0" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #cccccc; font-size: 18px;" usetype="2">Android</keyword> beta app. 
 Beta users can see the old status feature by tapping on the three dot icon placed at the top right corner of the app. After that, they need to go to the Settings > About > Phone number, where the old status will be visible. It has all the regular presets like 'Available,' 'Busy' and 'At the movies', and doesn't disappear after 24 hours.

Notably, the above mentioned 'About' and 'Phone number' options are not visible to all beta users yet. 
 
Earlier today, the company said that it will soon roll out iPhone-like features for Android users. In the latest WhatApp beta app for Android, the messaging platform has separate buttons for voice and video calls. The new buttons are located in the top corner side of the app.

Along with this, WhatsApp beta version 2.17.93 also has the attachment icon moved from the top to the bottom. The bottom bar has also been redesigned and now resembles a capsule. The camera icon, which sits next to the attachment icon, has also been redesigned.
